Hidden Valley Inn Home

The Hidden Valley Inn property is available only to our guests and can be explored on foot or by vehicle on well marked and maintained roads and trails.

TIGER CREEK POOLS AND FALLS
Approximately a 30 minute walk from the Lodge. The cool shaded pools at the top of the falls invite a dip. Be careful the rocks are slippery! You might catch a glimpse of the blue crown mot mot here. The vehicle tour also includes the full front view of this waterfall.

KING VULTURE FALLS
Approximately a 45 minute walk from the Lodge. The top of the falls across the canyon is the nesting spot for the magnificent white king vultures. These huge birds are often seen gliding in the currents up and down the canyon and resting in the pine branches overhead.

Butterfly Falls

BULL'S POINT
Approximately an hour's walk from the Lodge. From this promontory, on a clear day you can see the capital of Belmopan. The raised picnic shelter is a great place to spend a few hours enjoying the quiet and solitude of the forest.

BUTTERFLY FALLS
Approximately a one and a half-hour's walk from the Lodge. This jewel of the property is a 80 foot waterfall cascading over rocks into a crystal clear plunge pool that seems just made for swimming. It feels as though you're in a lost paradise as you look up at the rock walls hanging with bromeliads, orchids and ferns sparkling with the spray of the waterfall. Often there are blue and white Morpho butterflies flitting about the canyon. Take a picnic and spend the entire day. You won't be interrupted by anyone... other than possibly another Hidden Valley Inn guest.

HIDDEN VALLEY 1000-FOOT FALLS
Approximately a two-hour walk. This is reported to be the highest waterfall in Central America. Viewed from an observatory platform, it is a spectacular sight. If you are attentive, you may see the rare orange-breasted falcon.

LAKE LOLLY FOLLY
Approximately a 30 minute walk from the lodge. This is a man-made lake which provides the fisherman a chance to try his luck. The kitchen staff will be glad to cook your catch! Or one can just have a relaxing paddle around the lake in one of the canoes. Another great place to have a picnic.

MANAKIN FALLS
Approximately a 45 minute walk. This waterfall is different than any of the others in that you can climb down the rocks to swim in the clear pool and sunbathe on the sunheated rocks. The falls was named for the manakin birds often seen here.

USE OF PRIVATE POOLS AND WATERFALL
You can also reserve the exclusive use of one of our pools and waterfalls for the day, including lunch set up at the base of the falls.
