Are Your Brave Enough to Visit Barton Creek Cave?

Girl canoeing through a cave in the ocean

The country of Belize is full of adventures and some unique surprises as well. Just steps away from the Hidden Valley Inn is one of our favorite extreme adventures, The Barton Creek Cave. The only way to make your way through the underground rock formations without getting wet is by canoe. This cave is full of incredible crystals and stalagmites, but one of the reasons it's really special is because of the history that Barton Creek Cave holds. Belize is known for the Mayan ruins that have been trickled all over the country, but this cave has a slice of history inside as well. Every so often you will be able to spot skeletal remains that were the product of human sacrifice and the traditions of the Mayan people. Strap on your helmet and grab your paddles because if you want an adventure full of history and breathtaking nature, we think we might just have the tour for you!
