Our Story
How Hidden Valley Began
Long before it became a lodge, this was simply a hidden valley. In 1962, the land was first claimed for its extraordinary scale and beauty within the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve. The original cottages were built as guest houses for friends and family, while what is now the main lodge served as a private residence.
By the 1990s, the property had quietly opened its doors to travelers seeking solitude and a deeper connection to place. In 2001, the Roe family acquired the property with one clear intention: not to build a hotel, but to live alongside the land and protect it.

Where the Land Tells the Story
Every corner of Hidden Valley holds a moment waiting to be noticed, light slipping through pine, waterfalls carving stone, firelight flickering against dusk. These are not staged scenes, but glimpses of a place shaped by time, intention, and the quiet rhythm of nature.
“Driving several miles through the jungle to reach this secluded paradise felt like entering a secret garden.”
Guest, Anniversary Stay
Proudly Belizean. Fully Independent.
Hidden Valley is 100% Belizean owned and operated — rooted here, built here, and led with local knowledge and care.
Our team is made up entirely of Belizeans, many from nearby communities. Decisions are made on this land, not from afar — with culture, conservation, and community at the center of every choice.
7,200 Acres to Roam
This is not a resort surrounded by nature — it is nature.
Hidden Valley protects 7,200 acres of private reserve with more than 100 miles of hiking trails, pine savanna, broadleaf forest, and hidden waterfalls. Guests wander, swim, explore, and discover at their own pace — without crowds, without noise, without fences.
Protected with Intention Since 2001
In 2001, the property was secured with one clear priority: forest protection.
What followed wasn’t rapid development, but thoughtful stewardship — solar power, water collection, composting, wildlife partnerships, and a long-term commitment to preservation. Conservation isn’t a program here. It’s the foundation.
