Getting Here
How do I get to Hidden Valley?
Getting here is part of the experience—and trust us, it’s worth it.
Hidden Valley is tucked away in the heart of the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve, about a 2.5-hour drive from Belize International Airport. The final stretch includes a scenic unpaved road that winds through the forest, setting the tone for what’s ahead.
For a seamless arrival, we highly recommend arranging a transfer with us. Sit back, enjoy the journey, and let us take care of the rest.
Can I drive to the lodge?
You can—but the journey is part of the adventure.
We recommend a 4WD, high-clearance vehicle, especially during rainy season (July–December)
The final 3 miles are unpaved and can be muddy
Prefer a smoother ride? Our shuttle service is always available.
We also offer:
– Free parking
– Assistance with luggage
– Towing service ($25 USD) if needed
How far are you from the airport or nearby towns?
– Belize International Airport: ~2.5 hours
– San Ignacio: ~45 minutes
While we’re a bit off the beaten path, that’s exactly what makes Hidden Valley so special—space, privacy, and 7,200 acres of untouched nature.
Do you offer airport transfers?
Yes, we do.
Our team can arrange private or shared transfers to and from the airport, as well as between other destinations in Belize. It’s the easiest and most comfortable way to start your stay.
What should I pack for my stay?
The weather in the rainforest can shift depending on the season—and even throughout the day.
For the most accurate and up-to-date guidance, we recommend reaching out to our Reservations Team about a week before your arrival. They’ll be happy to share current conditions and help you prepare for your stay.
That said, a sense of adventure always fits perfectly in your suitcase.
General recommendations:
– Comfortable walking or hiking shoes
– Light, breathable clothing
– A light jacket for cooler evenings
– Swimwear for waterfalls and the pool
– Water bottle, insect repellent and sunscreen
– And of course—leave a little room in your suitcase for slowing down.

Our culinary team is happy to accommodate most dietary needs and preferences, and we always encourage guests to share any requirements with us in advance so we can prepare accordingly.
Please note that our kitchen does make frequent use of peanuts and peanut-based ingredients. While we take care in our preparation, we cannot guarantee the absence of cross-contamination.
If you have a severe allergy, we recommend reaching out to our Reservations Team prior to your stay so we can guide you as best as possible and ensure you feel comfortable and well-informed.
Is food included in my stay?
Meals are not automatically included unless you’ve selected a package that includes them.
Do you offer private dining experiences?
We do—and they’re some of our favorite moments to create.
From intimate dinners in your villa to unique settings tucked away in the reserve, private dining at Hidden Valley is all about creating something personal, memorable, and a little unexpected.
Experiences & The Reserve
Can I explore on my own?
Absolutely.
Our private reserve features extensive hiking trails, waterfalls, and viewpoints that you’re welcome to explore at your own pace. We’ll provide a map, radio and guidance so you can feel confident heading out on your own.
To make getting around even easier, we offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off services throughout the property from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Should you need assistance outside of these hours, we’re still happy to help—this service is available for an additional fee.
Do I need to book tours in advance?
We recommend it—especially during busier periods.
Booking in advance helps us personalize your itinerary and ensures availability for our most popular experiences. That said, our team is always happy to assist with planning once you arrive.
Are your tours private or shared?
We offer both options.
Many of our guests prefer private experiences for a more personalized and flexible day, but shared tours are also available depending on the activity.
Will I see wildlife?
Chances are, yes.
Hidden Valley is home to a wide variety of birds, mammals, and other wildlife. While sightings can never be guaranteed (it is the wild, after all), many guests are lucky enough to experience it firsthand.
Are there bugs?
We are in the rainforest—so yes, there are bugs.
That said, it’s all part of the natural environment, and with a bit of repellent and preparation, most guests find it very manageable.
Planning Your Stay
Do I need travel insurance?
We highly recommend it.
Travel insurance offers peace of mind in case of unexpected changes, especially given our cancellation policy. It’s a small step that can make a big difference.
Check with your credit card company you may already be covered!
Can you help plan the rest of my trip in Belize?
Yes—we’re happy to help.
From jungle to sea, we can assist in planning multi-destination stays so you can experience the very best of Belize.
Can you customize my stay?
Absolutely.
Every stay at Hidden Valley can be tailored to your preferences—from curated itineraries to special experiences. Just let us know what you’re envisioning.
